Each year the hold a Mass in November to honor the Feast of All Souls. This Mass is offered for all those who have died, particularly those members of our Catholic Community who have passed away during the previous year. Time and date should be posted on the website in October.

The replica of the world-famous Celtic Cross from the Irish Monastery of Clonmacnoise is on it's way. The Cross was commissioned by the Ancient Order of Hiberians to commemorate the Irish famine. The sculpture arrived in New York City December 17th and and is expected to arrive in Portland on December 28th.
The cross stands thirteen feet tall and weighs five tons. Expect a Winter 2008/2009 dedication ceremony at Mt. Calvary. When the cross is installed, it will take up permanent residence on the hillside overlooking the corner of Skyline and Burnside.
A limited number of gravesites surrounding the cross are available. Anyone interested in securing family and individual sites are encouraged to call Angela Nelson, our Family Service Counselor, at (503) 292-6621.

Mt. Calvary has completed the new development of 56 Double Depth Lawn Crypts in front of the indoor Mausoleum. The section is named "Divine Mercy" after the new artwork in the Mausoleum Chapel. The project overlooks the Cascade mountains and is located just outside the newly remodeled Chapel. The area includes community spaces for two as well as private family courtyard plots for four in a semi private setting. Every plot is adjacent to sidewalks allowing easy access for visitation.

Mt Calvary Cemetery is pleased to introduce the newest statue in the cemetery located in our current infant section. We commissioned the new statue to be a reflection of our faith as well as offering comfort to those who have lost an infant.

Space is now available in Gethsemani Catholic Cemetery's new development, nestled between the St. Francis Cremation Garden and our chapel.
This premier courtyard includes double depth burial sites, cremation niches, and two family mausoleums. Also featured are fourteen private family plots that provide the first opportunity to purchase and place an upright monument in the forty-five year history of the cemetery. We are also excited to be able to offer memorial benches in select areas of the courtyard.
This new area provides more privacy and custom memorialization for your loved ones than our traditional gravesites.

This new 6 crypt private mausoleum and 48 niche columbarium (cremation niches) was recently completed in the newly named Our Lady of Peace Garden. This is the first phase of a garden that clearly will have one of the most stunning views in the cemetery. The area has a spectacular view of the Cascades and Columbia River. On a sunny day, the reflection of Mt. St. Helens is framed against the tropical green granite used to construct the crypts and niches. Crypts can be purchased as a pair or all 6 crypts can be purchased at a discount for use as a private family estate.
This beautiful hand-carved granite statue and niche unit was recently added in the cremation garden at Gethsemani Catholic Cemetery. The unit features both single and double niches.
